Consisting of both light-filtering materials and blackout roller shades, the collection marks Plange’s first venture into the window treatment space. Texture, color and pattern abound, reflecting Plange’s Ghanaian-American heritage through cross-cultural references that meld modern American elements with traditional African design.

The prints are whimsical and playful while remaining elevated and elegant,” said Plange. “Each print reflects a bit of storytelling that transports the customer to different destinations in Africa, harnessing a fresh perspective that is abstract, artistic, and unexpected.”

We love Victoria, which pays homage to Plange’s Spring 2012 collection through vintage Victorian botanical and animal drawings that the Herero women of Namibia often wear. Botanica grassweave similarly utlizes vintage Victorian botanical inspirations, this time printed on the Shade Store’s linear grassweave. Vibrant hues, including indigo, a symbolic hue in Africa, serve as a throughline in the collection.

The entire collection can also be customized with motorization. The collection will be available at all of the Shade Store’s showrooms nationally, as well as online here.
