The new St. Regis Chicago cements its status as one of the Windy City’s chicest hotels thanks to showstopping interiors by KTGY Simeone Deary Design Group.

The presidential suite pairs neutral tones with organic shapes plus metallic and stone details to create a sense of contemporary urban sophistication.

With its glossy, coral curves soaring 101 stories high, Jeanne Gang’s latest effort, the St. Regis Chicago, has leveled up the city’s already-iconic skyline. When it came to creating interior spaces that would match the exterior’s wow factor, one Chicago firm stood above the rest: KTGY Simeone Deary Design Group, the masterminds behind luxury projects like Chicago’s Michelin-starred Boka, a pair of ultraluxe cocktail bars at the Palazzo at the Venetian Resort in Las Vegas, and more. “Marriott’s luxury St. Regis brand demands all the comfort and sophistication the exterior architecture implies,” says KTGY associate principal Sara Talleux, who spearheaded the project along with senior interior design managers Susan Jacobs and Justin Brown.

Noting the spaces’ elegant, neutral aesthetic accented by glamorous design moments throughout, Talleux adds, “The interior design conjures monumentality and history, as well as modern art and jazz, all grounded in the city’s singular story.”

Focusing on the property’s public-facing spaces, presidential suite and spa, KTGY worked with materials and color palettes that juxtapose light and dark, and hard and soft to evoke a balanced sense of drama and elegance. “The hotel’s double-height lobby immediately impresses with smoky marble floors and walls.

Above the high-gloss marble front desk, a floating chandelier, made of linear metal rods and glass orbs, invokes light peeking through the dust,” Talleux says.

A custom bench outfitted by American Upholstery Design offers the perfect perch for taking in the suite’s jaw-dropping views through floor-to-ceiling windows.

In the serene Iridium Spa, artworks sourced from NINE dots ARTS, an inviting lounge sofa from Ghidini 1961 and delicate lighting fixtures from RH, Visual Comfort and other top-notch vendors create an inviting essence reflective of the St. Regis’ DNA. Adds Talleux, “Decked in pink pastel tones, rounded forms and fabric layers that mirror the lake shore, the sumptuous spa speaks to comfort and refinement as it reflects nature.”

Retreat to the lofty presidential suite, and you’ll find KTGY’s signature from wall to wall. “The glamorous suite carries the characteristic juxtaposition in its rough carved forms and sumptuous materials,” says Talleux.
