THE CLIENT

Two generations of a Glenview family have worked with interior designer Shannon Peppeard of St. Charles’ Peppeard Design multiple times and have referred many of their friends to her over the years.

And when the daughter of Peppeard’s first-ever client relocated from the city back to Glenview with her husband and two children, the question of who would help them pull off a full interior redesign was a no-brainer.

THE PROJECT

Peppeard (the firm’s owner and principal designer) and team managed to accomplish a complete revamp of the home, built by Northfield-based Reynolds Architecture Design & Construction, in the span of just six months despite delivery delays. During that time, the team curated a space that perfectly suits the clients’ lifestyle and brings their vision to life.

“We loved mixing modern and traditional and creating a home that was aesthetically pleasing while still being livable and approachable for a young family with children,” Peppeard says.

THE DETAILS

“Wallpaper told a big story in this home,” Peppeard notes. “We loved layering them, and [we also loved] how each one adds personality to the spaces.” From sources such as Phillip Jeffries and Relativity Textiles, over 15 wallpapers offered the designer a fresh canvas to work with in each space. Peppeard adds that the team incorporated custom cabinetry, rugs and lighting as well.

THE OUTCOME

Refined yet cozy, the reimagined home is now a chic sanctuary for the clients’ growing family to make memories in for years to come. “I love creating livable spaces that have a timeless design, so that a space doesn’t go out of style,” Peppeard concludes. “Stick with key, quality pieces you love, and your home will always feel current to you.”
