Pinnacle House is located in a wooded area near Westlake- in Austin, Texas. Two lush oak trees, whose trunks and branches open up in surprising and whimsical ways, become the central axis around which the areas of the house are developed-generating shaded spaces over the pool and terrace, the heart of the living area.
The floor plan is distributed on a single level- embracing the “all American” open concept. All the areas unfold at a ninety-degree angle, framing the pool and, with their characteristic floor-to-ceiling windows, open up to the invaluable view of the trees.
The porch is one of the main features of the house. It is a succession of massive stone columns with a wooden ceiling: a modern arcade that serves as a subtle connection between the main entrance foyer and the guest house, giving it a sense of belonging and visual extension. In the corner of the house, the master bedroom, glazed on three sides, integrates with the wildest part of the land, providing the unique sensory experience of sleeping outdoors and waking up with the dawn, in direct contact with nature.
The upstairs office, also surrounded by windows, is elevated to the precise height to delight in the distant outline of the city of Austin. The architecture is expressed with modern elements of rough-finished stone that add texture and dramatize the lighting at night. The ensemble is elegant yet casual, with a predominance of warm wood tones, which is emphasized in the covered terrace with a barbecue area.
Pinnacle House wraps around the trees that surround it and blends with the landscape, connecting with the beauty and greenery of its surroundings in perfect harmony.
