“Authentic design comes to life when you ignore trends and follow your intuition,” offers interior designer Kara Mann. The Chicago- and New York-based tastemaker known for her boundary-pushing juxtapositions was inspired by her own ’80s teenage dream bedroom— think ruffes, polka dots and iridescence—mixed with modern materials like resins, glass and concrete that add a raw edge and of-the-moment polish.

The expansive collection for CB2 was concepted with her fellow designers in mind—larger rugs scale up to 10 feet by 14 feet and all upholstery pieces are part of CB2’s custom program. “CB2 has been a go-to brand for my clients for years, and they have an incredible network of manufacturers that brought the cool and casual vision of this collection to life,” Mann says.
The Echo pendant hangs above the designer’s Winged soumak rug, resin dining table, Comb blackened wood dining chair, Drop armless dining chairs and Hadow blackened wood sideboard.
“Kara is a creative visionary, and together we’ve created a collaboration that leads with quality and design, but at approachable price points,” says CB2 President Ryan Turf. “While I think any design aficionado will recognize the edginess and high quality in every piece, the collection is still accessible enough to be mixed in with our customers’ personal style.”
