“I’ve always enjoyed dressing up,” says Colombian fashion designer Johanna Ortiz. “I realized entertaining was an extension of that.” Now, her fashionable fans can extend the look to the table with her debut tabletop collection with Collecto, Entre Rios. The range includes napkins, place mats, tablecloths, cocktail napkins, bread baskets, bowls and candleholders—all outfitted with her signature tropical flair. (Think palm trees, monkeys, parrots and raffia tassels.) “There’s a little bit of everything,” says Ortiz. The pieces are made in Ortiz’s home country of Colombia, including handpainted quartz plates from Carmen de Viboral, wooden birds from Puerto Colombia, blown glassware from Bogotá and place mats woven from iraca fiber. We think it is just the thing to spice up your holiday tablescape.
