THE PROJECT

Jarvis Wong, principal of Jarvis Studio, tested his design skills with a 3,881-square-foot Park Avenue apartment for a family of five. The home transformation prioritized a functional and practical approach while weaving in details of elegance and timelessness.

THE DESIGN

Over 10 months, Jarvis Wong ensured that every criterion was met by focusing on common areas (the dining area, living room, family room and kitchen). From custom concepts to chic wallpapers and cozy rugs, every apartment element was catered to the client’s lifestyle.

THE DETAILS

This four-bedroom, four-and-a-half-bathroom home is an innovative reimagination of iconic Park Avenue architecture and design. Of all the stunning adornments, the most notable is a large canvas artwork spanning almost the entire back wall of the living room. Found during a family vacation to Sicily, the exquisite centerpiece is by Sicilian artist Alessandro Florio. With bar seating for before-school breakfasts and ample cabinetry, this space surely checks all the boxes.

THE OUTCOME

Mindfully melding utility with opulence, Wong’s redesign meets this on-the-go family’s desires and comfort. Utilizing the large, open-concept living and dining areas, Wong crafted an effortlessly chic space perfect for family bonding, holiday dinners, and after-bedtime tranquility. Wong laced in subtle elements of sophistication, seen through emerald green features such as the velvet dining chairs and midcentury modern furniture. Furthermore, an intriguing whimsicality shines through eye-catching artwork and sculpture in the living room.
