Moving from Chicago to Dallas, this family of five tapped Foxx Design to reimagine a Spanish Revival-style home in Highland Park. The result? An updated classic with notes of style and sophistication.

“Our goal was to enhance, modernize and personalize it by integrating my client’s colorful sense of style and lifestyle into the home,” notes Lauren Foxx of Foxx Design. The Charleston-based interior designer partnered with this family of five for a complete renovation. Having worked together on the family’s former place in Chicago years back, Foxx was the obvious choice to help them with their new Dallas digs. “The home had great bones and underlying architectural style, so our goal was to enhance, modernize and personalize it by integrating my clients colorful sense of style and lifestyle into the home With that, every finish, surface, and fixture would now be replaced or refreshed, but we still had all the hallmark Spanish-med arches, double barrel vault ceilings, and beautiful wood beams to work with.”

Teaming up with Coats Homes, Foxx helped breathe new life into the space to help best suit the family’s colorful and charismatic personality. Carefully curating a mixture of vibrant hues, lush furnishings, and standout pieces, the modernized manse is nothing short of a bohemian paradise. “It was a healthy mix of pairing existing and selecting new pieces,” shares Foxx. “Since we had just purchased new furniture for their last home just two years back, many pieces still felt relevant and worked in the new home aesthetic. Some moved to other rooms, but the living room furniture was a new arrangement that was so fun to curate. It all started with that fabulous bullion fringe and teal velvet sofa.” The wow-worthy sofa is one of many pieces throughout the home that pack a punch. Notes Foxx: “Each space has its own story and starting point. For some of the spaces, it was the wallpaper selection that we used to shape the rest of the design.”
