Some might say that the golden age of American furniture has passed, but those in the know about Hellman-Chang (hellmanchang.com) would likely disagree. Known for its exceptional craft smanship and expansive bespoke capabilities, the brand’s large assortment of sleek and timeless furniture takes partial responsibility for the “Brooklyn Renaissance” of the past decade. Originally creating its bench-made pieces in Brooklyn, the brand recently relocated to Dawsonville, Ga., to significantly expand both its warehouse space and its possibilities. Th e brand is now tapping into Dawsonville’s population of skilled cabinetmakers, allowing it to expand its production in the new 32,000-square-foot facility. Going forward, Hellman-Chang’s entire assortment will be produced in Georgia, from its quickship options to bespoke offerings. Among the standouts from the 2022 line are the Cleo dining table—a sleek racetrack oval-shaped table with a solid bullnose edge, floating metal beam in base and metal capped feet—and the Gillian sideboard and cabinet, a sideboard that can be modified into a hutch featuring rounded corners, metal inlay and cladding behind doors, and matching metal feet. Both are available in all standard and premium wood and metal finishes.
