One of the most exclusive and iconic properties on the East End, La Dune, just sold at auction for a record-breaking $88.48 million.

The auction was held on January 24 via Sotheby’s Concierge Auctions, and now holds the title of the most valuable property ever auctioned live at Sotheby’s. Seven bidders contended for the property in the New York saleroom, with the famous Gin Lane address eventually fetching a 121.2% increase from the winning bidder’s opening bid. The property, once the most expensive listing ever in Southampton, consists of over four acres and includes two extraordinary residences: 366 and 376 Gin Lane. Both properties were eventually sold to a single bidder after global auction participation from real estate moguls.

Between the seaside location, breathtaking views and top-of-the-line finishes, it comes as no surprise that La Dune fetched such a pretty penny. The main house boasts over 11,000 square feet and architecture by Stanford White, complete with 10 bedrooms, eight bathrooms and staff quarters.

The second house mirrors the main house’s style and grandeur, creating consistency throughout the entire property. In all, a combined 21,000 square feet of living space spread across incredible amenities such as a home theater, billiards room, fitness room and staff quarters make this property one of the most notable in the Hamptons.
