What fi rst sparked the idea to launch your space?

Living in Houston, with its rich cultural tapestry and burgeoning appreciation for art and design, inspired me. The city’s dynamic energy and diverse architectural landscape presented the perfect backdrop for launching a world-class space that celebrates the timeless elegance and craftsmanship of legendary Italian and European furniture systems.

What are you most looking forward to with the showroom launch?

I can’t wait for everything that I’ve been dreaming about, all the designing and planning, everything I’ve been working for, to finally become a reality. This showroom has been a labor of love for me, and I cannot wait to share it with everyone. We have a working kitchen and open space to host events like parties, pop-up restaurants, and cooking classes, which brings my two passions together: design and food.

Is there any brand in particular you are most excited about carrying?

The entire first floor will be dedicated to Boff. We are the most extensive and exclusive distributor of Boff, the premier Italian brand offering kitchen, bathroom and wardrobe systems for all of the Southwest region, including Texas. However, we also have other brands like MisuraEmme, another Italian company that makes innovative but thoughtful wardrobes and TV systems, which we also showcase in our showroom.

Sitting pretty at 2222 Westheimer, Gala Design Studio touts a 10,000-square-foot space and features a myriad of highly sought-after brands, including the Southwest’s most extensive offering of a 90-year-old Italian heritage brand, Boffi.

What is your favorite part of the design industry?

I love working with clients, whether they’re interior designers, architects, or homeowners, and personalizing the design just for them. I love designing the flow of a client’s life for everyday convenience. Integrating the functional aspects of design with the beauty of our products creates the perfect partnership.

What is trending for the future ahead?

I don’t focus on trends since trends can come and go. You should do what you love and not worry about what others are doing. But if I had to pick one thing that will increase in importance in the future, it would be using sustainable composite woods like Novowood, which does not warp, lose its color or become weather-resistant. The technological advancements that Novowood has made are incredible and will play an increasingly significant role in the materials landscape.
