Gail Cipriano Design Studio redefines luxury with a daring vision for an opulent abode on the East End of Long Island.
Custom counter stools from Artistic Frame pair with sculptural, one-of-a-kind pieces sourced from across the globe.
THE PROJECT
In crafting an opulent residence in Hart Cove, Gail Cipriano Design Studios (gailciprianodesignstudios.com) sought to transcend the conventional East End aesthetics. The dynamic mother-daughter duo who led this project are Gail and Taylor of Gail Cipriano Design Studios, who were given plenty of creative control. “When called upon to unleash our design and build expertise on this ground-up property, we were flushed with inspiration,” Gail says. They oversaw the critical decisions, shaping everything from interior and exterior architectural details to meticulous finishes that contributed to an elevated living experience. Their vision? To curate the 11,000-square-foot residence that overlooks the sparkling waters of Moriches Bay into a space that elevates the ordinary by offering a unique blend of luxury and innovation.
A pair of one-of-a-kind Milo Baughman swivel chairs frame the stunning custom-carved Canadian ash fireplace in the living room.
THE DESIGN
The pièce de résistance is a floor-to-ceiling, hand-carved ash wood fireplace in the living room, alongside floor-to- ceiling windows displaying the sweeping vistas and cozy limited edition Milo Baughman swivel chairs. “When asked to create a focal fireplace that is cohesive with the mood of the project, daring and different came to mind,” Taylor says. The GCDS team was inspired to merge the warmth of wood with an essence of sensuality, and the outcome reflected this as the Canadian Ash masterpiece, characterized by its endless curves and peaks.
“Timeless wainscoting and herringbone floors were implemented to masterfully incorporate the classicism of the Hamptons feel with our eclectic vision,” adds Gail.
THE DETAILS
The homeowner is a huge Barbie fan and couldn’t pass up the opportunity to implement a collection of the Cecile Plaisance Barbie fine art into their space. The long arched corridor is adorned with the black-framed works that goes hand in hand with the black spherical overhead lights. A captivating interplay between the home’s light and dark color palettes amplifies the allure of their colorful accent pieces. From the striking blue wallpaper in the dining room to the lush plants styled by Nathaniel Savage throughout the home to the authentic sculptural vintage Pierre Paulin Ribbon chair, each element adds extra excitement to the eclectic interior design.
Artful elements and sleek stone add an opulent essence to the bathroom.
THE OUTCOME
Upon stepping inside the home, the residents are welcomed by a gracefully curved custom staircase that spans three stories with the bold yet playful Brendan Murphy fine art lining the wall. A custom Coco Beaded over-scaled tiered chandelier hangs in the center of the foyer, and custom handmade rope sconces from Cuff Studio punctuate the space. Surrounded by spectacular views and bathed in natural light from the East End, the abode captures the essence of its surroundings at every turn. Says Gail, “Every opportunity to capture these moments of nature was encapsulated in this design.”
The living room pops with a vibrant vintage Pierre Paulin Ribbon chair, a luxe custom marble coffee table and a chic Directional sofa.
