Eccentric French fabric house Pierre Frey joins the roster at ADAC.
Joining ADAC this past spring, heritage fabric house Pierre Frey has officially opened the doors to its new showroom on the third floor of the design center. “Each new showroom is a renewed reflection of who we are. We often say we are a young company with a long history” says Fiona West, the president of Pierre Frey North America. “We were founded 87 years ago and our evolution from a fabric house that as some wallpapers to who we are today, with our full product range, is very exciting. In 2022, Pierre Frey is a bonafide lifestyle brand.”
Guests enter the showroom through a pair of antique French doors that came straight from one of the Frey residences in France. “We wanted something of a Pierre Frey signature at the enterance. My thoughts turned to our flagship building on rue des Petits Champs in Paris and it’s classic Parisian portes cocheres,” says West. “The two doors at our ADAC enterance came from Patrick Frey’s own apartment that he was renovating and I love the authentic feel they bring, as is.”
When designing the space, West was working on a separate project with a film director and set designer. It was only natural for the two projects to influence each other. “I was inspired by the idea of a movie set, where each room generates a different emotion for the viewer,” says West. “Looking from the hall outside you see the enfilade of rooms with different scenes, moving from contemporary to 18th century decor. I wanted the client to be transported into a different universe as they explore the space.” The showroom also serves as the perfect place for
Pierre Frey to showcase some of their lesser known products like their carpet and furniture line and showcase the brands use of color. “Color has always been a strong element of our designs and we definitley have a very French, fearless use of color that our clients love,” say West. Also included in the space is access to Pierre Frey’s extensive archive of wallpapers, some dating back to the days of Marie Antoinette. 351 Peachtree Hills Ave. NE, Ste. 423, adacatlanta.com; pierrefrey.com
