WINNER: BRITANY SIMON DESIGN HOUSE

When interior designer Britany Simon learned her clients wanted to turn their tiresome Tuscan-themed bathroom into a sensational spa, she pulled out all the stops.

Typically, clients want their homes to reflect their lifestyles, but the homeowners of this Trovita Place residence prefer to be happily disoriented in one particular space. “They joke that sometimes when they go into the bathroom in the middle of the night, they get confused about if they are at home or in a very swanky bathroom of a high-end hotel somewhere amazing,” says Britany Simon, the interior designer primarily responsible for transforming this magical space.

The married empty nesters told the Britany Simon Design House team they wanted a “bold, contemporary feel” and something completely unique. “Our jumping-off point was the bold marble patterned floor,” Simon recalls, referring to the Elizabeth Sutton Arc polished marble mosaics she found at TileBar. “Our clients are true color lovers, and we thought this would be the perfect statement piece in the bathroom to start our color story throughout. The pink quartzite our clients approved—without question—for the countertops and framing around the mirrors was the other element that took this overall design to an incredible wow factor. When inside, you feel like you are in a unique jewel box, and there is so much to take in that you discover a new favorite design element every time you see it.”

As if the design was not fabulous enough with its wild patterned textiles and the glitzy chain link fixture above the free-standing tub, Simon also delivered a feature that will keep the clients cozy, “They wanted a way to have warm towels and the traditional wall towel warmer doesn’t truly warm the towel throughout, so we incorporated a warming drawer within the tall linen cabinetry for them to have a full fresh-out- of-the-dryer towel feeling after every shower.” Talk about luxurious appointments.
