Invented in 1991, Silestone® is one of Cosentino’s flagship innovations and has been leading the countertop market ever since. The low-silica mineral surface is composed of premium minerals and recycled materials and is available in a wide range of colors and finishes. Over the past three decades, Cosentino has dedicated its efforts and investments to mastering the look and feel of natural stone with sustainable manufacturing practices. Today, all Silestone® products are manufactured with 100% renewable electric energy and 99% recycled water and produce zero liquid discharge into rivers and oceans. The surface's eco-friendly attributes are possible thanks to Hybriq®, a cutting-edge proprietary technology for the manufacturing and composition of Silestone® launched in 2020. The technology has also enabled Cosentino to drastically reduce the percentage of crystalline silica in Silestone®’s composition, creating a safer product for the entire value chain.

Cosentino took its sustainable commitment to the next level with the introduction of Silestone® XM, a new category of next-generation surfaces crafted with Hybriq+® technology, utilizing a minimum of 20% recycled materials and a maximum of 10% silica in its composition. The carefully selected minerals within Silestone® give the surface great color depth, shine, and resistance. It also features a full-body design, making the pattern of the surface visible through the cuts and edges. This year, Cosentino launched two color collections under its Silestone® XM portfolio, let’s explore them.

LE CHIC BOHÈME

Le Chic Bohème embodies the essence of Parisian sophistication and bohemian flair, infusing spaces with timeless sophistication. The four new color structures awaken the imagination with their elegant veining, nuanced patterns, and subtle metallic veins echoing evenings in the hills of Montmartre and the golden sunsets along the banks of the Seine. The collection features a range of shades to accommodate every style, from bold and dramatic colors that make a statement to subtle and unassuming hues.

Jardin Emerald is an on-trend deep green that evokes the beauty of Parisian gardens while Rivière Rose transports you to the sandy shores of the French Riviera with its warm white canvas adorned by blush pink and taupe veins. Château Brown is the deepest color of the collection, with copper pink and bronze veining dancing on an elegant brown shade eliciting a connection to the earth. Finally, Blanc Élysée captures the timeless elegance of Paris with a classic white design accented with unexpected gold, copper, and gray veining.

EARTHIC

EARTIC is more than just a surface, it is a research project conducted by Cosentino to explore materials and sustainability in collaboration with the iconic FormaFantasma studio. This sustainable collection was created with an innovative composition and complex production process utilizing recycled glass, PET bio-resin, Dekton fragments, and 30% recycled components to reduce the extraction of raw materials and limit soil erosion and CO2 emissions. The low silica collection reflects the material’s origin and sourcing as well as the art of transforming recycled materials into something new.
