Beloved brand Calico Wallpaper has launched a new bespoke collection in collaboration with guest designer Jason Miller. Called Verdure, the hand-painted watercolor collection is inspired by the landscapes of Northern California, complete with its seaside cliffs and redwood forests.

Brooklyn-based designer Jason Miller was inspired by nature’s relentlessness, using abstract botanical shapes that bring welcome organic accents to a room. As Calico Wallpaper was originally founded in Brooklyn, the collaboration with Miller was a natural fit.
The collection’s unique pattern is created by leaf forms overlapping with one another, as if woven by nature, for a textural element. The watercolors have blurred boundaries reminiscent of the wind stirring leaves for a mix of rugged coastal flora that feels evocatively alive. Transparent layers of leafy shapes and flickering metallic highlights feel like sunshine dappled in the forest or light catching the waves. Both fragile and forceful, the design boasts impressive balance.
The print is available in eight colorways: Aster, Dogwood, Pansy, Phlox, Sawgrass, Sorrel, Spruce and Yarrow. As is true of all Calico Wallpaper collections, it was born from original artwork, and can also be crafted into a custom-fit mural that is tailored to an individual space and project.
