The interior design industry was thrilled with the return of High Point Market in North Carolina, October 16 - 20. Vendors exhibiting the market put on quite the show through their captivating exhibitions of innovative furniture designs. Brown Jordan, the highly-coveted brand of outdoor luxury furnishings, presented a new collection in collaboration with award-winning architectural designer Ann Marie Vering. Their new collection, MOTO, reimagines outdoor seating by incorporating a layer of luxury comfort. As Vering’s second collection with the brand, MOTO compliments her wildly successful Oscar Collection with the element of mixing and matching pieces. The versatile sectional collection was created to be tailored to suit the needs of any context, environment, or desire.

“The MOTO collection showcases an austere masculine frame contrasted against soft padded panels and dense with subtle details for A&D appreciation. Instead of introducing a third material into this collection, I introduced removable upholstered panels as a hallmark feature. Beyond aesthetics, we worked to achieve the most comfortable outdoor cushions on the market. Timeless and tailored, MOTO is a flexible seating system with a high degree of personalization for the customer, including our hospitality clients." says Ann Marie Vering.

The MOTO Collection is a union of pure metal craftsmanship and luxury outdoor cushions, creating a modern design with neoclassical details, and featuring upholstered panels as a signature design element. Thoughtfully crafted to provide maximum comfort, the cushions are composed of three layers of batting and high-end foam — unique for outdoor seating. The cushions are also finished off with a piping outline to give a classic embellished look to offset a more modern structure. The upholstered panels are fabricated with solid metal and are fitted with removable padded covers. Supporting the luxurious seating is a distinctive low profile metal frame fabricated with cast joints, custom extrusions, and tubular metal, producing smooth and clean lines. The frame, while seemingly effortless, is engineered to achieve long spans, while maintaining a clean silhouette. A 10-inch Dekton ledge table is featured on specific pieces, distinguishing themselves as a different form of functionality. Pulling from a color palette seen in nature, the fabric and metal finishes are both available in three neutral hues: Anthracite, Chalk, and Smoke Grey, and Textured Pewter, Dove, and Loden respectively.

The collection consists of eleven versatile pieces, including a daybed, that are designed to create numerous configurations other than the classic “U” or “L” shape, and can be paired together to construct large or intimate sectionals. Comfortable in form and limitless in design expressions, the MOTO collection serves a unique purpose for the outdoors.

“MOTO is a seating system you never have to say no with,” says Stephen Elton, Chief Brand Officer of Brown Jordan. We are honored to continue the collaboration with Vering to bring the customer this timeless, versatile, and tailored collection.”
