What is offered through Minimal Living Concepts? ZD: At Minimal, we offer a range of five predesigned floor plans, with opportunities to customize both exterior and interior using our design packages. All design packages are featured on our website using real-to-life renderings. Also, we are planning to launch our first full-scale home offering product line in 2023.

What brought you together to launch this company? ZD: We have always had the desire to develop real estate. As we embarked on our development journey, the pandemic hit. We saw an opportunity to create highly functional spaces for people’s backyards, and quickly realized there was a serious need for a turnkey alternative to the archaic construction process. We coupled our marketing background and real estate expertise to launch Minimal. The demand for our product type was almost immediate.
What makes your ADU design stand out? JA: There is undoubtedly a cool factor to our modern, minimal guesthouses. Walking into a backyard to see a modern, chic, timeless structure creates a wow experience. The exteriors are wrapped in steel or stucco featuring high-end millwork accents, and interiors are full of light and function. We build using traditional methods and high-end materials. Floor-to-ceiling aluminum windows, 9-foot interior ceilings, spray foam insulation and European-style cabinets are all standard features. We also offer high-end upgrades and are unveiling more upgrades in 2023.

Why are ADUs popular right now? ZD: People are looking for alternatives to buying a new home, which leads a lot of people to consider new options such as remodeling, expanding or building an ADU. A significant portion of our clients are using our units for multigenerational housing. Our units are a perfect solution as they give the grandparents a sense of independence and privacy yet without shared walls. Our guesthouses can also be used as a home office, workshop, gym, art room, storage space, pool house, or a short-term or long-term rental property.

What do you love most about bringing ADUs to Scottsdale? JA: Providing clients with the best construction experience of their life is what we love about what we do, not to mention seeing our clients’ reactions to a beautiful project in their backyard. We see ourselves as filling a gap within our industry, and Scottsdale has been the best place to start that journey.
