Decorated designer Janie Hirsch (jhirschinteriors.com) delivers on refined luxury.
The Mission
Janie K. Hirsch, ASID, the founder and principal designer of J. Hirsch Interior Design, has always had a good eye for design, something she credits to her architect and watercolor artist father. She began her professional career in New York City working for a lighting firm, moved over to working in collaboration with a local homebuilder in Atlanta and has since expanded to a full-service design firm taking care of everything from architectural details to millwork to furnishings for her clients.
The Challenge
“I believe a designer’s gift is to listen to each client, learn how they live and create unique solutions that will work for their needs,” she says. “The design should reflect their personality and style.” Combining the best in the technical and the beautiful, she’s able to design beautiful, curated and livable spaces efficiently while sharing a vision with her clients. “I believe that interior spaces should not only be aesthetically pleasing but also deeply reflective of the individuals that inhabit them,” she says. “I create environments that resonate with my clients’ lifestyles, preferences and personalities, ensuring that every element harmonizes to tell a cohesive story.”
The Philosophy
Elegant and classic in her designs and timeless in her approach, she pays meticulous attention to detail to ensure her clients receive designs, furnishings and spaces that exude sophistication and charm—and are created to last. “We offer a unique blend of refinement and functionality,” she says, “while focusing on capturing the essence of traditional elegance with modern elements.” Signature design elements include using subtle colors as a neutral and taking a family’s favorite room and delivering that feeling and those details throughout an entire home. Many of her designs include hallmarks like quality craftsmanship, antique pieces, modern accents and refined, luxurious furnishings.
The Victory
Well-deserved awards for J. Hirsch Interior Design include 46 national and regional awards, including being named an ASID (American Society of Interior Designers) National Medalist in 2020; 8 ASID Presidential citations; two nominations for Southeast Designer of the Year; features in over two dozen design magazines and five design-related books, and more. She was recently recruited to serve a second term as an ASID National Chapter Support Team member as a regional guide and liaison between Presidents and headquarters following her successful term as President of the Georgia Chapter of ASID. She’s currently working on lake houses with architects on Lake Keowee and Lake Lanier, among other projects.
