Luca Lanzetta

Chicago - Founder

Describe what you do. I am a design entrepreneur with an engineering approach to any project I work on.

What has been the key to your success? I am a perfectionist driven by passion. I am always looking at doing things better from a design and process standpoint.

What first sparked your interest in design? I studied mechanical engineering at Politecnico di Milano with the dream to design Ferrari race cars, which I’ve wanted to do since the age of 10. I did end up designing kitchens that cost as much as a Ferrari!

How would you describe your aesthetic? Simply minimal, clean, elegant and timeless with a curated attention to details.

Who are some of your favorite “secret” sources for projects? My sources are the vendors I represent in my showrooms. I have made a decision to work with only the best players in the industry, and I develop incredible connections with them on top of a business relationship.

Wallpaper or paint? Plaster.

Antique or modern? Modern.

What’s the best bang for the buck to make a big impact on a project? For sure a great kitchen, but also great lighting. It is important to curate everything you touch.

What do you wish more of your clients understood? Quality versus quantity. Quality design in a house has a positive impact on your life and well-being. A big house with poor design just drives me crazy.
