“Whether fashion for the home or clothing, it’s all the same thing,” says Kym Gold. “They’re just different mediums.” Gold, who rose to fame as co-founder of True Religion, has transitioned to interiors over the past few years, buying and designing homes. Like most great innovations, her latest venture—a line of chic, made-in-L.A. ceramic decor called Style Union Home—was born out of necessity. “I found there was a void in the market for a lifestyle ceramic business,” she explains. “I’ve parlayed all of my business skills into a new medium that now just happens to be clay.” The small-batch line consists of shapely vases and accents, thoughtful serving pieces and even pet bowls, all handmade by a master ceramist. “In general, I use neutrals as a throughway and then accent hits of color depending on the season,” says Gold, who’s currently working on kitchen and office collections. “They are designed to be home pieces passed down from generation to generation.” Here, the Encino resident shares her current faves.
