CUMAR INC. VICE PRESIDENT, CARLOTTA CUBI MANDRA
Carlotta Cubi Mandra had never intended to get into the family trade and join the stone industry. Her father first founded Cumar Inc. in 1992, and eventually in 2004, fresh out of business school, fate stepped in and she joined the business. From there, she realized that she had found her passion. “The stone industry gives so much opportunity to be creative, and also challenged - and as a business owner, particularly in a family business, I know that I have a big responsibility to uphold a legacy and make my own mark,” she says. It wasn’t just fate that had brought her to the world of stone, however. Carlotta is originally from Verona, Italy and the eighth generation for stone workers. “I guess you could say it’s in my blood,” she adds.
Currently, Carlotta and the Cumar Inc. team are working on rebranding their logo and growing their reach even more. “My father and I have become true business partners and re-imagining the branding seems very symbolic for me as his daughter”. Her work continues to inspire her every day, and especially as a female leader in business, she seeks to share that inspiration with other women through empowerment and authenticity in a largely male-dominated field. “When I thought about myself as a Dynamic Woman, I thought of all the roles I play daily as a business leader, wife and mother,” Carlotta adds, “Although most days the balancing act gets hectic, I am rewarded in knowing that I face each challenge head on and work tirelessly to get it done”.
